"Ever since I got my Terrier/Schnauzer/God knows what else mix "Scruffy" 11 years ago, Laura McMullen has made a lie out of his name by regularly grooming him into quite the polished gentleman.

We have followed Laura from Westwood, KS to every location she has worked, even if it has been out of our way. Believe me, she's worth the trip. It's not just because she's an excellent groomer, but because I can trust her with my most cherished companion.

What a gift it is to drop Scruffy off with Laura, and know he is in hands as affectionate as mine. I believe she treats every dog in her care as well or even better than that dog's companion or family does. How many groomers can you say this about? Think about it: we leave our dogs alone
with someone for several hours and expect them to be safe and protected during that time, as well as look and smell great when we pick them up. That's a pretty big responsibility as far as I'm concerned, and Laura more than lives up to it.

She's even aware of and tries to make people conscious of the bad, bad things in the supposedly "premium" dog swill that most vets carry. (Read the book Food Pets Die For. You'll be shocked and will never feed your pet Science Diet, Iams, or any other commercial dog food or treat again.)

And to top it all off, she uses pet shampoos and other grooming products that are free of potentially harmful chemicals. If anyone is concerned about a dog's well being,it's Laura. She's a groomer but she's also your dog's best friend. (After you, of course.)

"I have been taking my dogs to Laura for almost a year now. I have used a variety of groomers and I can only say that I am thrilled with the services they receive at Laura's shop.

I have a lab/sharpei mix (Holmes) and a Jack Russell Terrier (Buddy.) They have never looked or been treated better than at Canine Design. Holmes gets "furminated" and that does away with his shedding in the house and he looks great. Buddy gets a bath and a hot oil treatment and he feels all clean and happy. Then they spend the rest of the day running around in the play area with other dogs until I pick them up and buy them a treat.

"I met Laura over 10 years ago when I brought my older Yorkshire Terrier, Liam to her for a trim. She suggested the "puppy cut" for my little guy and I have been hooked ever since.
